WHAT IS RELAXATION THERAPY

  • Relaxation Therapy   is one of the easiest ways to allieviate stress and anxiety and if practiced regularly it can be an effective way of reducing tension and calming both body and mind. 

WHAT IS PROGRESSIVE MUSCULAR RELAXATION

  • Progressive Muscular Relaxation  is programme of simple exercises designed to relieve the effects of stress and anxiety by relaxing muscles and calming body and mind.  It works effectively by systematically tensing and relaxing each muscle group, beginning at your toes and slowly moving up through each area of your body until reaching the top of your head.

  • Regular practice can give both mental and physical benefits by relieving stress, reducing tension and aches and pains. It may also reduce the need for medication often prescribed for short term relief in stress related conditions. 

WHAT IS GUIDED VISUALISATION

  • Guided Visualisation  is as the name suggests a way of guiding an individual or a group of people with spoken imagery by creating a peaceful scene (e.g. A walk through a beautiful garden) to aid both mental and physical relaxation. In the right environment visualisation promotes deep relaxation by acting as a message to the subconcious mind, and is particularly beneficial when added to the end of a PMR session enabling the user to relax more completely
